He serves on the Advisory Committee of the National Futures Association (NFA).

He began his career as director of public affairs for the American Soybean Association and is a photographer and cinematographer.
His philanthropic endeavors are channeled through the Peregrine Charities. Three key areas of charitable focus include research and cures for childhood diseases, the Leukemia Research Foundation, and The Peregrine Fund, located in Boise, Idaho, a non-political, solution-oriented, science-based organization working worldwide to conserve wild populations of birds of prey.
