DES MOINES, JUNE 2011 –PFGBEST of Cedar Falls will receive a 2011 Iowa Character Award from Character Counts In Iowa. The awards annually honor individuals, schools and organizations that consistently demonstrate and promote the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.

Representatives from PFGBEST will be honored along with 12 other Iowa award recipients at the 2011 Character Awards banquet on August 5. All 13 award recipients were chosen by a volunteer selection committee made up of more than 50 Iowans.

Bruce Clark of Waterloo nominated the company for the award. "In just the short time PFGBEST has been in the Cedar Valley, they have earned the respect of the community through their commitment to the six pillars of character. PFGBEST has made themselves a world power in the financial world while still staying grounded in trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship."

"We don’t always get a chance to recognize the organizations in our community that are helping our state become a better place,” said Scott Raecker, executive director of Character Counts In Iowa. “The Iowa Character Awards are a great way to pay tribute to the people who make a difference in our lives."
